The Biodiversity Task Force of South East Europe is an intergovernmental technical body under the Regional Cooperation Council composed of six members, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo*, Montenegro, Republic of North Macedonia and Serbia. Its objective is to advise the RCC Regional Working Group on Environment on how to mainstream biodiversity in the targets of the Environmental Dimension of the SEE 2020 Strategy. Additionally, the BDTF promotes regional cooperation in areas including, among others, monitoring and reporting of the implementation of Multilateral Environmental Agreements, enhancement of biodiversity information databases, capacity development, and mainstreaming of biodiversity into sectoral policies. IUCN ECARO hosts the BDTF SEE Secretariat and provides administrative and technical support to the Task Force.
